Australian Bicycle Summit

The Australian Bicycle Summit was held from 2015 to 2019, after which it was put on hold due to the Covid pandemic.

The conference theme was ‘smart tech and active transport, towards zero’ and explored the changing face of transport and impact on active travel, and the role technology will play in how we move in the future. The event was held at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, the world class sporting and corporate venue in Docklands.

The program in 2019 included a Developing the Advocate Workshop for the first time which provided targeted training by experts in advocacy and government to over 30 participants across advocacy organisations, bicycle user groups and corporations. The Workshop was designed to further develop advocacy skills of participants and to maximise their potential when dealing with local, state and government contacts.

Other elements of the 2019 Summit included our National Bicycle Organisation’s round table meeting, the Legends Night social and industry networking evening, the Bicycle Summit conference sessions and was wrapped up by the annual Cycling Luminaries Awards Gala Dinner. 2019 was the biggest and best Summit ever with nearly 400 attendees across all functions held over the two days.
